For me the key to dressing for Fall is layers + mixing patterns. It's one of my favorite seasons because you don't have to be as matchy-matchy + mixing textures + prints is SO fair game. Two of my favorite Fall pattern combos are herringbone + buffalo plaid -- if they were people, they should date and get married because they are the PERFECT pair! :)
For this look, I paired the J. CREW Herringbone Vest with a Buffalo Plaid scarf that I thrifted. This one is originally from Charlotte Russe, but Charming Charlie has a very similar one in stock now. Mixed patterns over basics work best in my opinion so you don't start to look too "busy". I threw on a black basic shirt, some black jeggings + black boots + viola! I also LOVE throwing a pair of brown boots on when black is your basic color. I didn't do it here, but you should try it!
